CARRYING COTTON TO THE GIN by primitive artist Theora Hamblett (1895-1977) is a print of the original painting in which a cotton horse-drawn wagon carries cotton to the gin with a child riding on top of the cotton. Hamblett was well-known for scenes and visions celebrating her Mississippi childhood. “Carrying Cotton to the Gin” was published by Yoknapatawpha Press in 1976 in a limited print-run of 1,000 numbered copies, half of which were signed by Theora Hamblett.
