Founded in 1975, Yoknapatawpha Press is a southern regional
small press which publishes works by southern writers. It is owned and
operated by co-publishers and editors, Dean Faulkner Wells and Lawrence
Wells. To inquire about submissions, send query letter with stamped and
self-addressed envelope. Unsolicited manuscripts will not be accepted and
will be returned unopened. Yoknapatawpha Press is named for William Faulkner's
fictional county, Yoknapatawpha, from the Chickasaw word meaning "gentle
water."
